How to Prepare Compressed Tea
Brewing compressed tea is simple. A piece of tea is placed into a teapot, cup, or infuser and steeped in hot water until the leaves naturally separate.
Instructions: Step 1. Heat water to 95–205°F. Unwrap & place compressed tea in your strainer. Step 2: Add 8 oz hot water, steep for 3–6+ min based on your taste, remove strainer & drink. Repeat: Up to 3 times, adding more steep time with each new cup of tea.
Origin & Region
This sampler includes two traditional tea styles: puerh from Yunnan and compressed teas crafted in Fujian.
Our pu-erh teas are sourced from Yunnan Province, the historic birthplace of puerh and home to ancient tea forests. The leaves are traditionally sun-dried and either left raw (sheng) or carefully fermented (shu), developing the deep, layered character pu-erh is known for.
Our compressed teas reflect techniques rooted in Fujian Province, where pressing tea has long been used to protect delicate leaves, reduce bulk for trade, and create consistent portions. Today, that same method offers both heritage and convenience - preserving tradition in a refined, ready-to-brew form.
